Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi; Which Way For Bradesco

He started his career with Bradesco in his teen years. He was 17 when he was employed at one of Bradesco’s groups. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi is an enigma in his own right. He worked in various positions at Bradesco and became the president of the bank in 2009. Prior to his appointment as the president of Bradesco, Mr. Luiz was the president of Bradesco Seguros. It seems that Bradesco Seguros Presidency is a preparatory position for the bank’s presidents.

Like Mr. Trabuco, Mr. Octavio de Lazari who is slated to take over the leadership mantle from Mr. Trabuco is also the current president of Bradesco Seguros. Trabuco is about to leave the helm of the bank. He will be remembered for building the bank to the much-respected position it holds now. Bradesco is the second largest bank in Brazil currently. Here is a bit of Luiz Carlos Trabuco’s career path to the helm of Bradesco. He served as the MD of Fundacao Bradesco, a position he still holds today. He was also the CEO of Banco Bradesco. He served as the CEO of Bradesco Seguros from 2003 to 2009. He was the CEO of Bradesco Vida E Providencia among other positions. He is a graduate of philosophy from the University of Sao Paulo among other educational qualifications he holds.

The Handover Calendar

The selection of Octavio de Lazari was a competitive process that was overseen by the Selection Committee of the bank. It was first made public in early February. According to Mr. Trabuco, in one of his responses in an interview, the succession process at Bradesco is a well thought out an planned event. Mr. Octavio was selected in a process that saw the bank’s various other vice presidents pushed aside to allow for the President of Bradesco Seguros to carry the day. Octavio beat the likes of Cidade de Deus, Alexandre Gluher, Josue Pancini, Marcelo Noronha and Andre Cano. In the meantime, Trabuco will still serve as the chairman of the board of directors of the bank until the first Ordinary Meeting has been held on 12th of March.

About Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi

Mr. Trabuco is both a sociologist and a philosopher. He attended the University of Sao Paulo for his philosophy degree, after which he studied socio-psychology at Fundacao University. While at the helm of Bradesco, Mr. Trabuso will be remembered to have turned the bank’s fortunes around through his socio-philosophical techniques. For instance, he emphasized the need for enhanced communication at the bank. While the move could not be immediately or directly linked with the turnover of the bank, soon the bank began to grow faster than anyone anticipated. He is credited for having lifted the bank to its second largest position in Brazil now. In fact, Bradesco registered some of the fastest growth rates in the banking sector in the region. It is now time to pave way for one Octavio de Lazari to steer the big ship that Trabuco made Bradesco be. Luiz Carlos Trabuco was at first meant to come to the end of his term two years ago. However, the management extended the retirement age from 65 to 67 years in the latter part of 2016.

Betsy Devos Joins Democrats In Calls For Congressional Hearings Concerning School Shootings

There have been numerous mass shootings over the last decade. It seems the news cycle focuses on the shooting for about two weeks before moving on to the next big story. Sooner or later, the country turns the page until the next shooting happens and the cycle starts again.

But this time is different. The surviving student body of Marjory Stoneham Douglas High School has banded together to start a movement for change. In just under a week, the students have forced a nationally televised town hall meeting with Florida lawmakers and have marched on the state legislature in Tallahassee demanding action. And even a high-ranking Republican is calling for Congress to do something.

Betsy Devos, the Trump Administration’s Secretary of Education, has called on Congress to start a debate. She specifically and publicly pleads for Congress to begin holding hearings on the issue of gun violence in America. While not calling for any specific policy changes, she urged Congress to have conversations about tracking shooting suspects and addressing the nation’s mental health. And she did it all on an extremely popular conservative talk radio show hosted by Hugh Hewitt.

She seems to have spurned a bipartisan effort to jump-start the debate in Congress. She wants lawmakers to have an actual impact on the future, and Democratic Senator Patty Murray from Washington State couldn’t agree more. She’s publicly agreed with Devos wholeheartedly and has urged Republicans in Congress for hearings on the issue. She added that she is very glad that Secretary Devos has requested hearings on gun violence.

Unfortunately, the House Committee on Education and the Workforce has not held such a hearing since February of 2013. It’s been five years since the last hearing on gun violence despite the epidemic of mass shootings in America. Perhaps this bipartisan effort to open the floor to a debate will bring about meaningful change.

There are two Democratic lawmakers on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce that have joined Devos in demanding a hearing. Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (D-Ore.) and ranking member Bobby Scott (D-Va.) have sent a letter to the Republican chair of the committee demanding a hearing while all other Democrats on the committee backed the demand.

The letter states that more than 430 people have been shot in over 230 school shootings since Sandy Hook which took place just five years ago. The letter was sent to the chair, Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), stating that the committee has not held a hearing since the tragedy at Sandy Hook.

The Democrats may have found an unlikely ally in the demand for a gun safety debate in Devos. However, the shooting took place on her turf — a public high school. She’s been working tirelessly to give students and their families more choice when it comes to education. She’s even appealed to students by making appearances with pop star Pit Bull in Miami. Now her greatest challenge might be keeping the nation’s students safe from the epidemic of gun violence.

Robert Ivy On Architects Role In Public Health

Robert Ivy, the Executive Vice President and CEO of American Institute of Architects, has written a very informative article about public health and the role of architects in promoting it. This fellow of the AIA has listed some intriguing facts about health that most people are not aware. He cited some statistics which said that nearly 10 percent of US citizens have diabetes and worse, about 8 percent have it but they don’t know. He added that 17 percent of children are affected by obesity, over 34 percent are overweight and over 35 percent are obese. These are very frightening figures.

AIA is an organization for architects in USA. They focused on establishing and improving the sector of architecture. They want people to be aware of public health with regards to architecture. This organization worked to bring together all architects in the world.
Although diseases come from eating unhealthy foods and lack of exercise, Ivy says that architects are working to mitigate these problems through their profession’s partnership with the medical community. The goal is to prevent the situation from getting worse. Ivy sees architects having a pivotal role in improving public health through their profession. He visualizes designs of school structures that utilize natural sunlight so that the students’ attention span will be enhanced and healthcare facilities that are designed with physical exercise as part of their recovery regimen. He notes that it is really encouraging to see that public health officials are teaming up more and more with architects in bringing about public health improvement.

Ivy also suggests that creative architectural solutions will demonstrate that health and design can provide the answer to the epidemic of obesity. He also mentioned that architectural schools and medical schools are collaborating with each other in advocating for more undergraduate courses along these lines. Ivy is suggesting for medical schools to add architectural design in their curriculum. A partnership between the two professions could mean that a new breed of architects will be born who will design neighborhoods and cities with physical activity and health as their top priorities in preventing diabetes and other debilitating and chronic diseases.
Ivy also stated that architectural students are now requesting their schools for courses on how to design structures that will enhance public health. He cites a prospective graduate course, Master of Science in Architecture, which is being planned by Texas Tech University’s College of Architecture. This graduate course will specialize in Design and Health. Dr. Bon Ku, who is a doctor of emergency medicine in Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, is now teaching design thinking. Dr. Ku is also connected with Sidney Kimmel Medical College as Design Program Director. This medical school is the first one in the country to have this kind of curriculum. Ivy’s appointment to the top rung of AIA’s management is really beneficial to both architects and the general public. Apart from being a Master Architect, he is also an accomplished writer and editor of many well-known architectural publications.
