Dr. Shafik Sachedina is a leader in the Department of Jamati Institutions, Secretariat of His Highness Aga Khan in Aiglemont, France. He manages and directs the Ismaili Community functions and roles in the country. As the head, he oversees the 16 branches in the country. Aga Khan Development Network is working well not only with the people of Ismaili community but also the neighbors in Central Asia.
Shafir Sachedina was born in 1950 in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and before going out to the corporate world; he studied at Guy’s Hospital Medical and Dental School in University of London. He undertook Dentistry and he graduated in 1975 as a dental surgeon. For a long time now, he has been working in England while establishing his businesses around the world in the healthcare sector. In the Aga Khan and Jamati Firms, he is a volunteer and always seeks to help in his capacity so as to keep the long traditional role of community service.

With the time that he has sacrificed outside of work, he keeps the institutions in a good position and direction. He serves in the Board of Governors. With his grip in the facility and his influence, he holds many other stations when he is functioning as the manager. First, he works for and on behalf of the Ismaili Imamat and the Ismail community. He is often involved in the decision making of the Aga Khan Development Network Committee of Aiglemont. The other institutions that Dr. Shafik is involved in their operations are; FOCUS Humanitarian Assistance International Coordinating Committee as a chairman, Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum where he is a member. Prior to all these seats and service, he was in other voluntary capabilities that have also included being the president of the Ismaili Council in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Shafik Sachedina is widely respected for his service in the world where they have gone to various parts of the globe in continents that include Africa, Europe and Asia. They have created partnerships with government and brought about more friendship that come with business that benefit the host nation and the Ismaili Community mutually.
Dr. Shafik is the leader of the community’s affairs in the whole world and he oversees relationships with other countries. They teach other Islam neighbors the importance of keeping to their faith, critical thinking before deciding on a good path of tolerance towards other religions, empathy towards the needy and to always obey Allah.
